I decided to go with Distric 9 as my movie for this project. It's one of my favorite. I started with the background, which originally had a man standing on the hill staring at the aliens spaceship. I began by resizing the image to fit the poster size and creating a duplicate layer of it. I rasterized both layers and brushed over the figure of the man (I didn't do it too precise because I knew I was going to cover him up with the "warning sign" anyways. Next I extracted the warning sign from it's original image and resized it to fit over where the man's body was. I then adjusted the Hue/Saturation of the warning sign to match the red/orange hues of the background. Next, I added the barbed wire. Unfortunately I couldn't find an image of a longer piece of barbed wire I liked so I went with a shorter piece and just placed it together to connect them. I tried to play around with the lightness, hue and saturation, but I found that because of the dark nature of the bottom of the poster, the black barbed wire looked best in this area. Next came the text! I used the font Defused Extended Bold and based my color scheme off of the actual movie posters. District 9's taglines are No Humans Allowed and You Are Not Welcome Here.
